Re: Grand Theft Auto

If I were to spend three hours a day fixing cars would I not end up becoming a good mechanic? If for three hours I spent my time painting would I not become a good artist? If I spent three hours a day doing my homework and reading would I not become an excellent student? So why would you say that killing cops, robbing cars, dealing drugs, pimping women, and vandalizing property in a virtual world not produce a better one in real life? Police officers use video game technology to train for real life, how is your child smashing a women’s head in with a baseball bat preparing them for real life? These kids may not go out and rob a bank or kill their teacher, but it is forming a cosmology within there universe. They love playing GTA because “they get to do stuff they can’t do in real life.” Well what is going to happen when they turn 17 (the age you should be to start playing these games) and you have been bored of killing people in a virtual world for many years? What we feed into our kids now will evidently shape our kids future.
